tamilnadu blind football association (TNBFA)

Strategic development plan of TNBFA 2020-2024

Sport doesn’t care who you are or where you come from. It is our world’s common denominator, with a breadth that surpasses language, skin colour, and imaginary lines we’ve drawn on maps. Sport unifies us, and sport divides us. It brings us together for a single purpose unlike anything else. In many ways, sport creates an international society of one. Through sport the great equalizer, the great unifier we can make our way, through sport we can make friends; through sport we create meaning for ourselves, developed our identities, and find sanity.

The blind football players of Chennai have been practising since 2017 under the guidance of Head coach Francis Sebastian a certified IBFF coach. This group of players have participated in two invitational tournaments of IBFF under the banner of Loyola college Chennai at Bengaluru in 2018 and 2019.

In December 2019 TNBFA was registered in Chennai under the societies act with a vision and mission to exclusively promote the game of blind football in Tamilnadu with EC team comprising off.

Our Efforts

The efforts of TNBFA board and players in promoting football among the visually challenged have been very successful. It is very encouraging that there has been a rise in female participation in blind football with mixed-gender training sessions, as per standard norms. Blind football faces the same challenges that most sports for disabilities face, like ignorance, gender bias, prejudice, parental fear etc. TNBFA is working towards meeting the challenges and creating a state-wide platform to promote the football for the visually challenged sports persons of Tamilnadu.
